The Photography Club was formed in 2004, as part of the Arts of The Albemarle, and continues to grow with over 30 members.  The Club is dedicated to making photography more interesting and rewarding to the individual and is open to adult AOA members interested in photography.  Members range from beginners using point-and-shoot cameras, to skilled photographers using more sophisticated equipment.  The objective is to learn from each other in a supportive environment.  All members share an interest in photography – traditional or digital.

Club activities consist of workshops, field trips, guest speakers and a monthly competition.  During our twice-per-month meetings we share our photos and discuss how we could improve our picture-taking skills.  We plan programs to the interest of all members.

The Photography Club meets for about two hours starting at 7:00pm on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at the AOA Gallery.  Our meetings are informal and in the spirit of fun and enjoyment.  New members are always welcomed.  Feel free to attend a few meetings as a guest before you decide if our club is right for you.
